BB Cream: FIRST TIME LUCK
This is a short review because there's not too much to say other than: YAY!
In my mind, the world is made up of two things: concealers and foundations. Full stop. Well that was until I found a little something called BB Cream. It wasn’t long until this nifty product became the number 3 most wanted item in my handbag, and heart.
When doing research, I stumbled upon interesting facts about Ms. BB and her cream. Did you know that BB stands for Beauty Balms or Blemish Balms, and were originally invented in the 1960s by a dermatologist to prescribe to patients recovering from plastic and laser surgery? It's aim: to give the moisture of a moisturiser with the coverage of a light foundation and as with Vichy, the protection of a sunscreen.
I received the Vichy UV Protect Anti-Dullness BB Cream which recently launched as part of their UV protect range, and seeing that I was new to the field of Beauty and Blemish Balms, I embraced the product with zero expectations (insert drumroll here) and my oh my was I pleasantly surprised. Not only does the cream protect against the sun and its harsh UV rays, but also against all enemies of the skin: pollution, air conditioning and central heating. Let us not forget that even in winter months, we need the protection of an SPF because fyi: UV rays are responsible for 80% of signs of skin ageing. Yikes!
It also contains Baicalin, She extract and Vitamin E that work together in providing your skin with antioxidants that correct dark spots and even out complexion.
I was very impressed with the BB’s smooth application. It left my skin looking radiant and healthy, plus it lasted all day! Since then I've been applying it to my face daily as it's been really sunny here in Cape Town and I need all the protection I can get. It gives me enough cover and fits perfectly into my all-natural-daytime-look. At night, I have found it's best paired with a good concealer for more cover.
All in all: LOVE this product, will strongly recommend it if you're looking for a hydrating cream with light coverage. If you have healthy, blemish-free skin, this should be your best friend. Next up I would love to try La Roche Posay BB, as I've heard such great things about it.
Bit late to the BB train but hey, rather late than never.
