Ruby Marine Hydrating Mask from Skoon...

Ruby Marine Hydrating Mask from Skoon...

Skoon's Ruby Marine mask needs little introduction. This South African skincare brand has built itself a pretty impressive following amongst locals, with their Ruby Marine Hydrating Overnight Mask leading their success quite gracefully.

So of course, this was the first product I tried and yes, omg yes yes yes I ran into its arms like a girl head over heels. I'm an ingredients girl. Coming from a background of product training for a global skincare brand, I always do thorough research. So, if you want to impress me, let your first ingredient not be water. Instead, why not something like Coconut Oil or Grape Seed Oil or Beeswax or Marula Seed Oil – ingredients all found in Skoon’s Hydrating Overnight Mask. Impressed yet? I can go on…

The mask is also infused with Wakame Extract and Hyaluronic Acid to entrap water molecules on the surface of the skin which soothes and hydrates while you sleep. Wakame Extract (taken from seaweed yes actual seaweed from the actual ocean can’t actually deal with all this natural goodness) was first used by the Japanese for nutritional consumption as well as skincare, with recent studies verifying its remarkable anti-inflammatory (perfect for winter-sore skin) and soothing qualities.

It also has anti-ageing properties which means, I’ll take a large pot next time thanks! The smell is divine (mild vanilla) and the product sinks into your skin beautifully overnight. I can absolutely one hundred percent feel and see the difference.  Skoon is also proud to be a certified Cruelty Free brand (insert massive bonus points here) so be on the lookout for initiatives in support of our furry friends.

This is a brand with a backbone if you ask me, and I am happy to call myself a fierce fan!
